KIN4LIFE

A new day is upon us and hip hop’s answer to “what happen to the female rap game” is here. Blessed with the lyrical prowess to compete with the hottest emcees in the business as well as singing every r&b hook on their album, and touted as the female version of the Neptunes, the female rap duo KIN is a triple threat. Together as a group for seven years and friends for over ten, IQ and Nor have solidified their family ties and KIN has never had a truer meaning.

Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, NY, a town known for their contribution to hip hop in the late 80s and early 90s, KIN is determined to bring hip hop glory back to their hometown. KIN has decided to put the whole female game on their back and are determine to bring respect back to their genre. As young black entrepreneurs, IQ and Nor incorporated their label, Noriq (pronounced Nor-reek) Records in 2002. Under their imprint KIN has released 2 albums and is completing their third album entitled “Rock Star” slated for national release. Single handily they have created a buzz so loud that the international scene has come calling. With major overseas play in the UK, Italy, Croatia, and our northern neighbors, Canada, the US market is not far behind. Not only do these females write all of their music but they produce as well.

KIN admits that their first love is emceeing but their production and songwriting skills have made them a hot commodity behind the scenes. Working with the hottest up and coming R&B acts have garnered comparison to Missy, prompting them to form Noriq Records subsidiary Red Eye Productions. It is a promise that you will be hearing them all over your radio in the near future. IQ is quoted as saying “ We put an album out with zero to no budget.” This hunger and determination will make it hard for majors to ignore but the streets are listening, and KIN is the answer. Visit KIN’s website at WWW.KIN4LIFE.COM and see what the fans are really saying. The major labels are afraid of change but fortunately KIN is not afraid of a challenge.

Out of that challenge Control The Mic was born. Control the Mic is KIN’s answer to the politics and corruption in the underground hip hop scene. Control the Mic allows unsigned artists to return to the true essence of hip hop, before the days of paying obscene amounts of money to perform. They promote and host the most artist friendly open mic in New York City. When the industry didn’t provide a place for KIN to spread their music, they created one. Their live show is electrifying and has been compared to the glory days of Run DMC. The industry has now be faired warned. Hold on cause it’s a going to be a crazy ride.

Logan Lynn: Putting The Disco Back Into Discomfort

If the Land of Misfit Toys elected a team of cultural ambassadors, Logan Lynn would be its poet laureate. In Portland's pulsating music scene, he occupies a singular position- an emo prophet with a penchant for electronic beats, preaching the Good Word to drug-damaged crybabies.

In 2000, he released his debut album, "GLEE", a blissful, sex-drenched romp through some emotionally treacherous territory. Produced by Pfog, heavy themes of religion, sexuality and identity played out alongside upbeat grooves and smiley-face rhythms. One critic said it "put the 'disco' back in discomfort." That blend of spleen-venting lyrics and "Let's dance!" optimism owes a lot to Logan's unique, mildly scary midwestern upbringing.

His self-titled sophomore effort "Logan Lynn" came out in 2006, using his earlier work as a springboard for exploring fresh sonic territory. The album release coincided with a much-praised performance at San Francisco's all-leather Folsom Street Fair.

A recent collaboration with Producer Carlos Cortes of Portland DJ collective Assemble The Empire has yielded an E.P. entitled "Feed Me To The Wolves", which was released in the fall of 2007. Logan is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on his upcoming release, "From Pillar To Post" which will be released on THE DANDY WARHOLS' record label, BEAT THE WORLD, in 2009. Look for his videos on MTV's LOGO network as well as ADD-TV in New York and Out Of The Closet Television in Los Angeles.
